What is the secret to marketing on the Internet? Well, Robert Taylor
seems to have the answer and in today's PromoteNewz he would like to
let you in on it. Believe it or not, this secret is rather simple but
I'm not going to give it away here, --you will just have to keep
reading and find out for yourself.
As always, if you have your own techniques you would like to share with our readers write them down and send them to me. You never know-- yours may be the next best secret to Internet marketing. Sincerely Patrick Stoddard, PromoteNewz Editor ![]() Some call them "tag lines"; others refer to them as "catch lines" or tie-in-slogans. Whatever the words used to refer to them, they are perhaps the most important part of your promotional writing. Learn what you need to know to write effective "tag lines". Tag Lines
Best-selling author Seth Godin today began offering his new book, Unleashing The Ideavirus, for free online, asserting that the Internet does the same for entrepreneurs that radio has done for recording artists. IdeaVirus.com
Something I know very well, is e-mail discussion groups. Here's the trick: find some groups related to your business or product and join the discussion, and use a signature file linking back to your site. You can increase your traffic by up to 30% by doing just this. The only draw back is to keep your emails from being seen as just advertising. This webmaster has learned these facts quickly and now can draw more traffic to my site on those days I participate in the discussions. ![]()
Everyone seems to be searching the Internet for "the" secret
of Internet marketing. We know that when we find "the" secret
we will become immensely wealthy overnight with little or no
effort.
Somewhere in this article "the" secret will be revealed to you. A great number of Internet marketing programs profess to have "the" secret and, for a price, will share that "secret" with you. Here is where we run into a problem. Do they all share "the" secret or do they each have their own "secret" for success on the Internet? |
All the great copywriters know the word "secret" has somewhat of
a mystical connotation to it. There is something in that word
which makes us want to know what the "secret" is. We can't bear
not knowing and will go to great lengths to find out. There are some terrific programs and systems on the Internet to
greatly enhance our marketing efforts. There are those which
are worth many times the purchase price, and there are others
which simply are not worth the time it takes to check them out.How can we determine which are worth our time and money? I suggest that the programs and systems developed by those who have successfully used them to develop substantial income be considered first. This is not to say there aren't some start-up businesses with effective programs or systems which have great potential. The point I am trying to make here is that it is best to follow in the footsteps of someone who has successfully negotiated the minefield, rather than one who is proceeding by trial and error. Now for the "secret" to successful Internet marketing. The secret is that there are NO "secrets." There are only truths. These truths are marketing techniques and principles which have been developed through hard work, trial and error, testing and persistence. Once proven effective, they somehow become "secrets." Taken from another perspective, just how "secret" can something be that has been shared with hundreds or thousands of people? They may possibly have been secrets when first developed, but once they have been shared with others, they are no longer secrets. They have become shared truths. Your success or failure on the Internet depends solely on you. Your efforts and persistence, or lack thereof, will determine
the amount of success you achieve on the Internet. There are
many excellent marketing programs and systems which can be of
great assistance to you, but they are worthless unless you learn
and apply them. One truth is to find programs or systems about which you are extremely enthusiastic. Purchase and use these programs or systems so you will have first-hand knowledge of their overall effectiveness. All the rest simply boils down to details -
promoting, advertising, taking credit cards and online checks,
persistence, persistence and persistence. The above is simplified, but it remains a basic truth. I wish you the greatest success in your Internet ventures!
