The power of the Internet can be somewhat overwhelming when you take a moment and consider that you are visible to a world wide audience. So what does it take to reach this vast audience? I can tell you one thing, using all those so-called shortcuts is not the answer. If you are promoting your site, there is nothing more effective that getting down in the trenches and putting all your energies into the task.

I, myself put a lot of time and effort into promoting my web site and it seems to be paying off. Just like every-thing else though, you have to keep on it, especially when the subject matter is not in the mainstream. I am averaging about 75 to 100 page views a day and am always coming up with different ways to let the people who I feel will be interested know where they can find the information that I present.

All of us that operate our own web sites have tried to use all the short-cuts, you know what I mean, the search engine submission software and of course all those FFA's. Do they really work? Well, in my opinion, I would say a resounding NO. My listings in the search engines only became apparent when I took the time to submit to each one individually and as far as FFA's go all I ever got from them is more Spam.

That's why in today's PromoteNewz, David Morcom the founder of BIZPEP Online will tell us about his experiences with FFA's.

Sincerely
Patrick Stoddard,

Site Promotion - Looking for REAL PEOPLE!
When I initially discovered (stumbled across) FFA links the concept sounded great. Get 1,000's of links, and hits, free! This was just what was needed to promote my BIZPEP Online site and conserve the dwindling budget. The product (Online Models for business support) is innovative and value-adding. With 1,000's of links soon the rest of the world would agree.

In hindsight, ignoring the statement "We recommend you use a free email service for responses from your FFA posting" was not a good idea. From my perspective, if people were interested in BIZPEP Online services, then they deserved my main email address. With that thought in mind the BIZPEP spiel and email address were dispatched to 1000's of welcoming links most of who forwarded them to 1,000's of other welcoming links. At this stage I knew little about free autoresponders. I was about to learn.

The result was a barrage of responses! Unfortunately they were all trying to sell their product, which appeared to be 27,000 MLM systems. Or was it 1 MLM system being sold by 27,000 different people? Most responses were automated and I doubt if any real people actually saw the BIZPEP link or ad. My dream of providing a value-adding service to an eagerly awaiting world became a momentary nightmare.

Upon review I realized I had learnt a couple of things and took actions to apply my newly acquired knowledge:

  1. There are a lot of people seeking a fortune on the Web, but most of them are promoting the same or similar products.
  2. Considering this, I have established a simple referral system for BIZPEP's unique service.
  3. I know a lot more about email autoresponders and actually use them to provide ease of access to requested information.
So now I am a little wiser, have established a referral system that will increase BIZPEP Online exposure (the initial goal) and improved customer service with autoresponders. Given time maybe I will get 1,000's of real links and 1,000's of real people.
